Monster Energy Supports Scratch Community
Scratch DJ Academy has announced that Monster Energy is now its official energy drink partner. The two brands have some exciting plans in the works to cultivate and enhance the greater DJ community. Monster Energy, the top energy drink brand in the world, has sponsored thousands of extreme athletes, sporting events, music artists, music tours and music festivals since its inception in 2002. This new partnership with Scratch DJ Academy is another milestone in Monster’s growing presence within hip-hop and DJ culture. Artists and DJs who have partnered with Monster Energy in recent years include Snoop Dogg, Tech N9ne, Dave East, De La Soul, DJ Scratch, DJ Cipha Sounds, Meek Mill, Rapsody, Royce Da 5’9, and Statik Selektah among others.
Founded by the late, great Jam Master Jay of Run DMC, Scratch DJ Academy now has locations in New York City, Miami, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, and Philadelphia along with dozens of satellite locations in hotels, resorts, and cruise ships worldwide. To date, Scratch DJ Academy has taught over 500,000 people to DJ and produce music through its copyrighted curriculum and proven teaching methods.
Monster Energy and Scratch DJ Academy will kick off a DJ contest later this year and Scratch will also host its 11th Annual Scratch Summit in Miami on March 23, 2017 during Miami Music Week. DJs, producers, and industry professionals from around the world will descend on Scratch DJ Academy Miami, powered by Monster Energy, for the ultimate jam session, freestyle scratch competition, and networking summit. The summit will feature on-site celebrity talent demos and performances, and for Scratch fans who can’t make it in person, online viewers will have the opportunity to livestream the entire experience.
